Applies to: Dataedo 23.x (current) versions, Article available also for: 10.x

Now that you've installed Dataedo Portal and have a repository ready you need to configure the connection to our repository. If you don't have a repository prepared, check Step 2 in the main guide.

Open Dataedo Portal in a browser and choose the Use existing repository option.

On the next page, specify connection details Dataedo Portal will use to access your repository. Note that the user provided here will be used for all future connections made by the Dataedo Portal app. We recommend creating a dedicated user for this purpose.

First, specify the host and port for your SQL Server or Azure SQL Database instance. Next, specify the login used for the first connection. The user shoud be a member of either Users and Admins or db_owner database role.

If Dataedo is running on a Windows Server, you can also use Windows authentication for this connection. Follow this guide to set it up.

Then click Connect to repository button.

The configuration is now complete and you can log in to the application. Use the same credentials as you would in Dataedo Desktop.
