Dataedo features three getTypes of description fields:

• Descriptions - Every object in Dataedo repository has a description field. There are two getTypes of descriptions - plain text and rich text. They can be used for example to explain where the data for particular column comes from and how it’s calculated.
• Titles/aliases - Table and column names aren’t always self-explanatory. Dataedo gives you the ability to create meaningful titles for them. This title will be added after the name of an object in the export. For instance: invoices_tab (Documents).
• Custom fields - allow to define additional descriptive fields on top of built-in description and title/alias to add more meaning and metadata to your data. You can create up to 100 custom fields, depending on your plan.
