Dataedo 25.3 has landed!

The new 25.3 release is here, and it’s all about making your work with data easier, faster, and more reliable. From better accessibility to smarter quality checks, here’s what’s new:

Dataedo Browser Extension

With the new Browser Extension, Dataedo meets you where you already work. Whether you’re exploring dashboards or digging into reports, documentation is now just a click away in your browser. No more switching back and forth between tools—your definitions, lineage, and rules appear right when you need them, keeping the flow of analysis smooth and decisions faster.

Import Metadata in Portal

Until now, importing metadata was something you could only do in Dataedo Desktop. With version 25.3, we’re making this process available directly in the Portal—bringing collaboration and ease of use to a whole new level.

The first wave of supported connectors includes: Amazon Redshift, Azure SQL Database, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Power BI Reports and Dashboards, Snowflake, and SQL Server.

But the real game-changer is how imports work now. Instead of repeating the process for every single source on the same host, you can bring in multiple sources in one go. Each will still become its own Data Source, but they’ll all stay neatly grouped under the same Connection. That means less time setting things up and more time working with a complete, well-organized catalog.

Data Quality Thresholds

Data quality isn’t always black and white. Until now, even a single row breaking a rule meant the entire check would fail. While strict validation works in some cases, in many scenarios it can be too unforgiving.

With 25.3, you can now set thresholds that introduce a margin of error. Instead of marking an instance as failed immediately, you decide when it truly counts. Thresholds can be defined either as a percentage or a fixed number of rows—giving you the flexibility to adapt checks to your data reality.

This flexibility means you can tailor checks to your reality—avoiding noise from minor issues while still catching serious problems. Thresholds can be edited at any time, and even applied in bulk across multiple rules, making it simple to fine-tune your data quality framework as your datasets evolve.

Data Quality Reusable Rules

Consistency is key when it comes to data quality. Instead of building rule instances from scratch or relying on one-off SQL checks, you can now create reusable rules that can be applied to any object—whether it’s a table, view, or column.

This approach cuts down on duplication and makes your quality framework easier to maintain. By defining a rule once and reusing it across multiple datasets, you ensure that standards stay the same everywhere. To keep things secure, only users with the Power Data Steward role at the repository level can create reusable rules, so control over queries that touch real data remains in the right hands.

Data Quality for Databricks & Redshift

Cloud warehouses power some of the most important workloads today, and with this release, Databricks and Amazon Redshift are now fully covered by Dataedo’s quality framework. That means the same level of checks, insights, and confidence you rely on elsewhere can now extend to the platforms driving your analytics at scale.

And That’s Just the Beginning

These are just some of the highlights we wanted to share with you—but Dataedo 25.3 comes with plenty of other improvements, big and small. If you’re curious to explore all the details, check out the full release notes
