    Updating password in .dataedocmd files

Applies to: 9.x (current), Article available also for: 8.x, 7.x

Since .dataedocmd files contain encrypted password to your database, if you change your password, you’ll need to recreate or update the files.

For now the fastest way would be to edit the command files and change the node. Our .dataedocmd files are xmls you can edit with any text editor.

First, we'll need to encrypt your new password - the easiest way would be to create a new update file.

Open this file using any text editor and find a line looking like this:

    <Password IsEncrypted="true">157227096099007149140202157151041224116140138080</Password>

    Copy this line.

Open your previous files, replace your old password with one copied from a new file, then save.
