Licenses in Dataedo Portal (previously Dataedo Web)

Applies to: Dataedo 24.x (current) versions, Article available also for: 23.x

Some features of the Dataedo Portal (previously Dataedo Web) are available depending on the license type you have. In Dataedo 24.1 the following features are available only with Dataedo Plan:

  • Business domains and subject areas (a special system of domains and areas devoted to business use, in contrast to Data Domains which are provided for technical users). The Dataedo Plan allows you to use all the operations on the domains and areas, including:
    • displaying and using domains and areas,
    • creating domains and areas in the Dataedo Portal,
    • linking objects to such domains and areas and marking them as important,
    • granting permissions to objects depending on their assignment to specific domains and areas.
  • Workflows (in 24.1 implemented for glossary entries, lookups, domains, and areas). The Dataedo Plan license allows to:
    • use and display the workflows,
    • to change the workflow status according to current needs.
  • AI Autodocumentation.

If you lack any features, please consider upgrading to a Dataedo Plan. To do this, please contact our Sales Team.

Read the article Background connections to the cloud and check if the address mentioned in the Dataedo Portal section is not blocked.

The old offline license file is not working

If you downloaded the license file some time ago and after saving it in the License tab, the domains, workflows, and AI are not available, try downloading it again from your account or contact our Support Team.
