SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) Tabular - Automatic Data Lineage

What to Expect

Dataedo imports automatically:

1. Tables in Tabular model
2. Column-level lineage from source to tables

SQL Server -> SQL Server Analysis Services Tabular

Lineage is created for Provider Data Sources (Legacy) and for Structured Data Sources (designed to use the M language).

Known Limitations

• For tables created using Structured Data Sources, there may be gaps in the lineage. Dataedo does not have an advanced parser for M Language, so in more complicated cases the automatic lineage may not work.

Troubleshooting

Lineage is created based on a matched Linked Source, check the Dataedo desktop to make sure it is matched properly.
